THINGS TO DO IN ST. ANDREWS

The Picket Fence Motel is ideally situated on Reed Avenue and within walking distance (1 km or ½ mile) to the town centre – Water Street and the Market Wharf.

Water Street is home to many unique shopping opportunities including several artisan storefronts that reflect the vibrant artistic community of St. Andrews. From spectacular glass works and intricate textiles and metalsmithing to the tradition of timeless St. Andrews Woolens – you may just find that “perfect something” that you have long been looking for!

Outdoor ocean adventure opportunities abound in daily departures from the Market Wharf – Marine Life exploration, Whale Watching and sea-kayaking tours can all be arranged in this one central area.

Adventures on land are also not to be missed including the Fairmont Algonquin Golf Course (www.golfnb.com) where, for over 100 years, golfers have tested their skills; Kingsbrae Gardens (www.kingsbraegarden.com) – a 27 acre horticultural masterpiece and named as one of Canada’s Top Ten Public Gardens.  There is also the Atlantic Salmon Interpretive Centre (www.asf.ca) and Huntsman Aquarium Museum (www.huntsmanmarine.ca) where not only can you learn about the marine life of Atlantic Canada but you can see and reach out and touch it as well!
